Museum open on Presidents Day

Ever wonder what Jefferson said about spermaceti candles, or how Franklin D. Roosevelt traveled to the island. Curious about the Kennedy bunker in Tom Nevers? The Nantucket Historical Association is pleased to announce that the Whaling Museum, 13 Broad St., will be open on Monday, February 15, in recognition of the Presidents Day holiday weekend.

A highlight—for children and adults—will be the special presentation “The President and Nantucket,” scheduled for 1 p.m. in Gosnell Hall. NHA staff will present selections from U.S. Presidents who have visited and been inspired by Nantucket.
