Meetings to air on Ch. 17
      There will be no break in television coverage of weekly Board of Selectmen's meetings even though Plum TV yanked the cord on its long-standing commitment as of last Wednesday's session. Without a lot of time to smooth out details, Ch. 17's Geno Geng has agreed to take over the taping starting tonight, though he will not, at least initially, be able to broadcast the 6 p.m.

      At tonight's selectmen's meeting, Human Services coordinator Maryanne Worth will give a presentation on an upcoming county discount card program that offers residents money off prescriptions not covered by health insurance plans.

Margaret Anne Lindquist, dead at 82
      Margaret Anne Lindquist died on September 28, 2009 at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California at the age of 82. Margaret was born on Nantucket on April 30, 1927, the second child of Sara Jane (Tunning) DeGraw and Ralph William DeGraw, Sr. She attended Nantucket High for two years and graduated from Sacred Heart High School.

Walter P. Lukens
      Walter P. Lukens of Alexandria, Va. and Nantucket died on October 9, 2009 at the Mt. Vernon Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Alexandria at the age of 85, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mr. Lukens was born in 1924 in Merced, Calif. He attended Millards Academy in Washington, D.C. and Lafayette College in Eason, Pa. before entering the U.S.

      Scott M. Soverino, a Nantucket native and a 2002 graduate of Nantucket High School, has completed and graduated with the 24th class of the MBTA Police Academy on September 23, 2009. He also received the Fire Arms Top Gun award for marksmanship.

      Deimis Vizgintas was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on October 24, 2009 weighing 9 pounds and 9 ounces. He is the son of Saulius and Donata Vizgintas of Nantucket. His grandparents are Ona and Pranas Vizgintas and Stase and Alfonsas Kairevicius, all of Taurage, Lithuania.
