Pipe Organ Crawl 2009
      The 17th Annual Pipe Organ Crawl presented by the Nantucket Community Music Center will take place Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 Attendees will walk the streets of historic Nantucket and hear mini recitals at six different churches.

Police file charges against business employees serving minors
      Nantucket Police Chief William Pittman has notified the selectmen that his department has filed charges in Nantucket District Court against employees of several local establishments who served liquor to underage, undercover agents during a compliance check this summer.

106 Main St. façade back in town waiting for a home
      These days rain, weeds and Liz Coffin's cat are the only things passing through the frame of the façade of 106 Main St. The frame used to adorn a grocery story at the apex of Main, Gardner and Milk streets from the late 1800 into the mid-1900s and more recently, the McCauley dry cleaning business.

Web site sees fewer vacation bookings in ,09
      Booking rates for vacation rental homes on Cape Cod and the Islands were down 5.7 percent over the 2008 season, according to WeNeedaVacation.com. The Internet vacation booking site said that a weak first half of the year was offset by a strong May through August period, but bookings on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket were down 5.

Tarantulas discovered on Tucker nuck
      Tarantulas are on Tuckernuck Island. Andrew McKenna-Foster and Cheryl Comeau Beaton, Maria Mitchell Association spider experts, have discovered an inch-long cousin of the giant tarantula on Tuckernuck, an island off the western tip of Nantucket.
