Dave Mackay - A.K. Diamond's
      A.K. Diamond's bartender Dave Mackay is a man with two families. One is his wife, Ann and their two children, and the second is the local crew who frequents this bar at A.K. Diamond's at 16 Macy's Lane. McKay describes himself as the "worst carpenter on the island" and became a bartender. He worked 25 years at the Brotherhood of Thieves before his gig at A.K. Diamond's.

BIRDS OF NANTUCKET
A Very Elegant Heron - the Tricolored Heron
      Humans may argue whether the climate is changing, but the birds figured it out years ago. I never looked for this week's bird in the 50s. It didn't make the pages of "The Birds of Nantucket" by Griscom and Folger. Besides, it carried the name Louisiana Heron back then, so why would it ever find its way to Massachusetts?

SUMMER CAMP
      "Because it's so much fun!" This singular response came from three women during three separate conversations. They were talking about going to camp and not just any camp, but a camp for grownups and their dogs. Joyce Jaskula, Libby Frazier and Susan Whitlock have been going to Camp Gone to the Dogs in Vermont every summer for several years.
