Islanders Charles R. Pearl, 36, and Jason Schell, 32, were arraigned in Monday's district court after being arrested and charged with breaking into Dan's Pharmacy on June 28 with intent to commit a felony.

According to police, shortly before 4 a.m. on Sunday, a witness reported two white males wearing masks at the back door of the drug store in Bayberry Court. The men fled after being spotted.

Police at the scene found the back door had been forced open and saw bags of prescription medications on the floor near the customer counter. Detective Steve Tornovish, sergeants Howard McIntyre and Travis Ray and officers Michael Wells and John Rocket investigated the case and found a prying tool and gloves on the roadside near one of the suspect's addresses.

Pearl, of 36 Sparks Ave., is also charged with possessing a burglarious tool. Schell, of 2 Helen's Drive, is also charged with possessing a burglarious tool, resisting arrest and intimidating a witness.

Both men were sent on Monday to the Barnstable House of Correction. Pearl is being held on $1,000 cash bail and Schell is being held on $1,500 cash bail. They each have July 8 pretrial conference dates. I
