Softball cruises into quarter finals

      Nantucket beat Millis 14-3 in Saturday's varsity softball game before the home crowd for the opening round of the South Division 3 playoffs. Nantucket went into the playoffs seeded number two against Millis, number 15. Although in last place in the tournament, Millis was not to be taken lightly, as the team had won the championship in 2006, coming out of the lower ranks.

Varsity Lacrosse sails into quarter finals

      The Nantucket varsity boys lacrosse team left no doubt that the team belonged in the East Division 3 Quarter Finals last Thursday when the fifth-seeded Whalers not just outscored 12thseeded Bourne in the rain and wind, but gave the opponent a smack-down rolling over Bourne 16- 4 in the first round of the tournament.

Varsity baseball suffers early exit

      Nantucket's varsity baseball fell 5-1 to West Bridgewater in Saturday's game in the first round of the South Division 3 playoffs. Nantucket entered the playoffs ranked number 10, with a 12-6 season, while West Bridgewater was ranked number 7 with a 14-6 season.
