      S he's holding a school assembly, hosting a support group, creating a fund-raising walk and looking for media coverage, all to help bring awareness to raise funds for Parkinson's disease research. Jennifer Chadwick is not a typical teen in any sense. What does a 17-year-old cheerleader know about Parkinson's disease? Plenty. And, she's doing her best to educate others.

Burglaries on the rise
Contractors report tools stolen from work sites
      As work in the building trades on the island is drying up, burglaries of construction sites is on the rise. Kent Murphy, an island contractor who has been in business on island for 12 years, said last November, one or more thieves broke into two of his trailers on Old South Road and stole $30,000 in tools.

      Bradley Tipper, son of Kathleen and Harry Tipper of Nantucket, has been named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College for the 2008 fall semester. A student must achieve a grade point average of 90 or above during the term to be placed on Dean's List.
