EGAN MARITIME INSTITUTE REOPENS MUSEUM
Jeremy Slavitz, director of Education and Interpretation for the Egan Maritime Institute, adjusts a wheel to the surfboat cart. The surfboat was used by Massachusetts Humane Society during the Great Gale of 1879, when heroic Nantucket lifesavers responded to vessels wrecked off Nantucket's east end. See story on page 10.
