Congratulations, Nantucket High Class of 2008!

You have shown your compassion and wisdom with your class gift of donating money to help fund a counselor for the very valuable Student Assistance Program.

You are wise beyond your years to turn what had been deep sorrow with the deaths of three school mates into something positive. By helping to fund the counselor position, you as a class recognize from this tragedy the need to make professional assistance available in times of trouble.

The world needs such compassion and wisdom. As many of you explore the world by furthering your education, or enter the world of work or the military, don't be afraid to exceed your own expectations. Maybe you will change the world, even if only a little bit at first. You'll never know until you try.
