Yates Gas empoyees and a tow truck driver work to free the SUV from under the propane truck.

What could have been a major incident instead resulted in a minor traffic accident when a small SUV was making a turn from Washington Street onto Francis Street and became wedged under a Yates Gas propane truck going into the opposite direction Thursday afternoon.

There were no injures and the empty propane tank on the truck was never in danger of being punctured because of the low vehicle height and slow speeds involved.

The driver of the Yates Gas truck was cited for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to police on scene.

The Yates Gas truck suffered only minor damage and was able to be driven away from the scene, while the SUV sustained more damage and was towed from the accident site.
