AT ITS MEETING ON MAY 7, THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN:
• Approved an application for a common victualer license for Fish Stix, LLC, doing business as Fresh, for 3 Salem Street

• Accepted the surrender of all alcoholic beverages seasonal inn holders license held by Nantucket Island Management, LLC, doing business as the Harbor House Village.

• Accepted the resignation of Greg Keltz and Rick Artherton from the Finance Committee.

• Tabled a request from the Nantucket Girl Scouts for a request of a waiver for disposal of tree stumps at the Madaket Landfill. The board felt granting the request would set a precedent for the town and that the exposure from the request airing on television could help facilitate a solution to the problem.

• Accepted a request by the Coalition for Responsible Coastal Management. The Coalition had requested a discussion about the 'Sconset Beach Preservation Fund and Question 5 on the 2008 town election Ballot, to withdraw its request to be heard.

• Heard a presentation of the process by witch Nantucket disposes of constriction and demolition debris.

• Approved a partnership and a funding request by Nantucket Visitors Services with Greenhound, LLC to have two part time employees based at the Greenhound Facility at 10-12 Washington Street (see story, page 3).

• Appointed the Nantucket Police Department as an agent for the Massachusetts liquor laws.

• Approved funding for a temporary extension of the Prospect Street bike path.

AT ITS MEETING TONIGHT, THE BOARD WILL: Announce upcoming committee openings.

Hear a presentation and discussion of downtown circulation and ferry access improvement study recommendations.

Designate Board of Selectmen committees and work groups. Discuss the development of the coastal management plan.

Discuss two new committees, the downtown revitalization committee and the streets and sidewalks committee.
