Michael Kopko was elected as the chairman of the Board of Selectmen at a special meeting this morning on a 3-2 vote, with Allan Reinhard and Rick Atherton throwing their support behind him.

Brian Chadwick retained his seat as the chair of the County Commissioners, with newly elected Atherton backing him up as vice chair. The board voted 5-0 for both of those positions.

Chadwick had nominated Patty Roggeveen as chair of the Board of Selectmen, but had the nomination defeated 3-2, with the votes coming in on the same 3-2 lines. Roggeveen was voted 5-0 to be the vice chair.
