MUSIC LIBRARY OPENING
NCMC/Nantucket School of Music announces the unveiling of its new music reference library, which will be open to the public for research and ultimately for lending.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, the public is invited to visit the school's space, upstairs at 11 Centre Street, where they may explore the new library's shelves and cabinets, which will feature books on musicrelated topics, instrumental and vocal scores, and teaching materials.

At the same time, some decommissioned items, including books and music, will be available for sale.

This library will be the only public resource of its kind on the island, and the school expects it to be an invaluable resource for island musicians and music researchers. While the library's materials are currently available for on-site reference only, the school expects to offer lending privileges starting this summer.

The NCMC/Nantucket School of Music is a 33-year-old organization that supports music education and performance opportunities for young people and adults, and offers high quality music programs to both the year-round community and summer visitors.
