AT ITS MEETING ON MARCH 26, 2008, CONVENING AS THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN:
• Approved the renewal of the 2008-09 seasonal liquor licenses. There was some debate generated during the approval process regarding two licenses held by Nantucket Island Resorts for the Harbor House and the Jared Coffin House. Only the Harbor House license was up for renewal, because the Jared Coffin House holds a year round license. Selectmen wanted to know if the Harbor House would be open in time to use the seasonal license this summer and when the Jared Coffin House was going to start using the year round license it held. Attorney Melissa Philbrick assured the selectmen NIR was planning on having some portion of the Harbor House open, but was reluctant to discuss the status of the Jared Coffin House at length because its license was not up for renewal. The selectmen asked her to come back to tonight's meeting with more information on the Jared Coffin House, its restaurant and Tap Room, has been closed for over two years following a renovation project.

• Approved a request for the renewal of Massachusetts Water Pollution Abatement trust bonds from the Finance Department.

• Heard a departmental overview of the Building Department. Building inspector Bernie Bartlett said the main problem facing his department was document storage, but that a solution was hard to find because of the difficulty of transferring large paper building plans to digital form.

• Held a short review of the 2008 committee appointment process, including additional advertising and possibly holding a special meeting on the appointments because it is a time consuming process and would run late into the night if held during a regular Wednesday meeting.

AT ITS MEETING TONIGHT THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN WILL: • Hear a request to name a street in Pocomo Bluffmore Lane.

• Hear a request from the Town Clerk for the reappointment of Robert R. Reardon, Jr. as a Constable.

• Hear a request for the Acceptance of County Funding for the Central Dispatch Center.

• Hear a request for acceptance of County funding and approval of a Memorandum of agreement for the Joint Public Safety Facility.

• Hear a departmental overview of Visitor Services. • Hear an update on the status of the Jared Coffin House liquor license.
