Nantucket Island Resorts announced at Wednesday’s Board of Selectmen meeting plans to move the Harbor Wok restaurant to the former location of Jared’s Restaurant on the first floor of the Jared Coffin House on Broad Street. Island Attorney Melissa Philbrick, representing NIR, said the building permit is being finalized and work is scheduled to begin next week. The restaurant could be open to the public by June, Philbrick said. Philbrick did say there are some issues with the building becoming compliant with the American’s With Disabilities Act, but NIR was going through an appeal process to be able to modify an existing baggage elevator. The Tap Room in the basement of the Jared Coffin House will remain closed for the summer.
