AT ITS MEETING ON MARCH 19, THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN:
• Approved a request for surplus property declarations at 14A Sparks Ave., and on Kent and Berkley Streets and Cliff Road, as was adopted at the 20007 Annual Town Meeting.

• Approved an application by The Summer House Bistro for a change of manager for their seasonal all-alcohol restaurant license for the premises located at 16 Ocean Ave.

• Approved an application for the Nantucket Boys and Girls Club for a public assembly permit for a fundraiser dinner and auction on Saturday, June 7 at the Nantucket Yacht Club.

• Approved a request by the Marine Department to grant scallopers an extra day of scalloping in December when Christmas falls on a weekday. Until now the Marine Dept. shellfish wardens had to work on Christmas Day if scallopers were fishing. The missed weekday of fishing would be made up the following Saturday.

• Approved an application for a local entertainment license for televisions and non-live music for the El Rincon Salvadoreno restaurant on Old South Road.

• Approved an application for a new live and non-live entertainment license for The Summer House for the premises located at One Magnolia Ave.

• Approved an application for a new manager for a new victualler license for The Summer House, located at One Magnolia Ave.

• Continued a public hearing to consider an application for a new common victualler license for Fish Stix, doing business as Fresh, for the premises located at 3 Salem St.

• Approved an application for a new seasonal wine and malt beverage license for A.C.D.C. Promotions, doing business as Epernay. The new specialty wine store had a change made by the Planning Board to the special permit for its location at 1 North Beach Street. An attorney representing the five-year round liquor stores spoke out against the approval of the license, as did a private citizen. The attorney representing the applicant said the store would be offering wines and products which would not compete with the year round establishments and the board eventually agreed to approved the application 4-1, with Michael Kopko opposed.

• Tabled an application by Timothy P. Lonergan, doing business as The Dancing Pickle, for an application for a seasonal wine and malt beverage package store license located at 128 Old South Road.
