"Michael Clayton"

(Rated R for language including

some sexual dialogue)

George Clooney produces and stars in this suspense filled movie playing a "fixer" for a powerful New York corporate law firm when a 3 billion dollar class action suit goes wrong. Filled with wonderfully conflicted characters "Michael Clayton" is a masterful legal thriller. Great cast and highly recommended.

"American Gangster" (Rated R for violence, pervasive

drug content and language,

nudity and sexuality)

American Gangster is the true story of Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington) and his meteoric rise to the top of the crime world in Harlem in the 1970s. Richie Roberts (Russell Crowe) is the North Jersey cop assigned to topple Lucas' empire. These two dynamic characters on either side of the law are acted expertly by the very capable Washington and Crowe. Lucas is a family man with strong ties to the community, but is prone to break out in a violent and often deadly temper. Roberts is an honest cop, struggling with his own domestic problems and a set of corrupt police officers. "American Gangster" is a movie which follows in the tradition of "The Godfather" and "Blow," but which, as a credit to its creators, doesn't come off as being stale or cliché. The film is brought to life by director Ridley Scott ("Blade Runner," "Alien," "Gladiator") and features a fine, capable cast that includes Cuba Gooding Jr., Josh Brolin, and hip/hop

stars RZA, Common, and T.I. I
