HENRY TOOLE
Sophomore, Swimming
BY SAM TOOLE
The boys' swim team has had another strong season. An essential piece to this success is sophomore Henry Toole. Swimming since fourth grade, he has excelled in the backstroke and sprint freestyle events. An overall active kid, he also plays golf, lacrosse and surfs. The Nantucket Independent caught up with Henry on Sunday after the Central/South Sectional swim meet at MIT in this week's Time Out: ON SWIMMING

S: How did your season go?

H: It went well. We only had two tough losses and we came in second at the league championships. I'm looking forward to next year also because a lot of our strong swimmers are staying.

S: What events do you swim?

H: I swim the 100 backstroke, the 100 freestyle and the 200 Individual Medley. I also switch with the different relays depending on the meet.

S: What's been the top highlight of your career to date?

H: When we broke the 400 freestyle record at championships this year. It was with Will Martin, Beau Garufi, Sam Toole and myself. We also touched Nauset to win the event by a few milliseconds. ON SCHOOL

S: What has been your favorite class this year?

H: Spanish with Mrs. Suprenant because she's a great teacher and I enjoy learning Spanish.

S: Who has been your favorite teacher during your high school career?

H: Mr. Bennett because he's funny and chemistry is an interesting subject.

S: What event are you most looking forward to during your sophomore year?

H: The trip to France and England with the Accidentals and Naturals this April because I've never been to France and it will be fun to visit a different country.
