One-year-old Jacob Matthew Holdate

Jacob "Jake" Matthew Holdgate celebrated his first birthday on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008. He is the son of Nicole Wynne and Jamie Holdgate of Nantucket. He is the grandson of Christopher and Stacie Perry, Sarah Holdgate and Bruce Holdgate, all of Nantucket. He is the great grandson of Dick and Jean Freed of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Lindsey Perry Sr. of Boca Raton, Fla. and the late Barbara Hobson, Andy and Katherine Lynch and Alma and Allen Holdgate Sr.

• • • Salem State College recently announced that Cora E. Stover was named to the Dean's List for academic excellence in the 2007 fall semester. She also received a certificate of merit for her accomplishments. She is the daughter of John and Catherine Stover of Nantucket. She is pursuing a career in Naturopathic Medicine.
