CHRISTINA ANDERSEN
JV Girls Basketball Captain
BY SAM TOOLE
The girls' junior varsity basketball team has had another strong year, with an array of players who will be influential in games at the varsity level next year. One of these players is junior Christina Andersen, who plays forward/ center on the team. When not on the court she can be found playing softball, helping the environment or just hanging out with friends. The Nantucket Independent caught up with her over the weekend in this week's Time Out: On Basketball

S: How is your season going so far?

C: Pretty good. We are 7-3 right now and we have three more games to play. We're really strong defensively but on offense a lot of the shots just don't go in. A lot of the players have improved a lot since the beginning and we should have a strong end to the season.

S: What position do you play?

C: Forward or center because of my height. I've been playing those positions since I first started playing at the Boys and Girls Club.

S: What's been the top highlight of your career to date?

C: Honestly speaking I don't have one yet.

On School

S: What has been your favorite class this year?

C: Probably English, because all of my friends are in that class and we always have fun; or Algebra 2 because Ms. Sourian is entertaining.

S: Who has been your favorite teacher during your high school career?

C: Ms. Dooley, because she always told us great stories.

S: What event are you most looking forward to during your junior year?

C: Prom, because I'm helping plan it and it should be fun.

On Christina

S: What's on your playlist right now?

C: Well my ipod got stolen so I don't really have one at the moment but I listen to a little bit of everything.

S: What was the last good movie you saw?

C: "Superbad," probably because it was hilarious.

S: What are your other interests?

C: I play softball; I like hanging out

with my friends and traveling. I
