Gymnasts host Carver
Whaler gymnasts held their only home meet of the season Monday and performed well against Carver, who took the meet, 128- 112.

"I'm very proud of our team," coach Richelle D'Elia said. "We had an excellent meet."

Senior captain Maxine Daniels (pictured) competed in vault, bars, beam and floor exercise and "had an outstanding meet," D'Elia said. Senior Tiffani Montijo also had a very strong meet on vault, bars and floor exercise.

Junior Kiri Mullen participated in vault, bars and beam and sophomore Sophie Civitarese had a strong meet in vault and floor exercise.

Melissa Holdgate "gave her best floor routine of the season," and also competed on the parallel bars, while Chelsea Reynolds turned in a "great beam routine" and competed in floor exercise. Lucy McGowan competed on vault and bars. Also participating for Nantucket were Kayle Hatch, Kimone Wiggins, Shauna Asplint and Emma Knutti.

The gymnasts travel to Somerset Saturday for the Cranberry League championships.
