From the sidelines NSSA annual meeting The annual meeting of the Nantucket Student Soccer Association is at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in the Large Group Instruction Room at the high school. Changes to the bylaws will be considered for a vote of the membership present. All NSSA parents and other interested members of the public are invited to attend. INDOOR SOCCER PROGRAM Space is still available for the NSSA indoor soccer program for grades two through eight. Call Linda Williams at 228- 4556 or e-mail czarina@nantucket.net for more info. HOCKEY REGISTRATION UNDERWAY Registration is now underway for winter men's and Rec. League hockey at Nantucket Ice. Men's league registration must be completed by Jan.16, with play beginning Jan. 21. Rec. league registration must be completed by Jan. 18 and play begins Jan. 23. Anyone interested in sponsoring a team should contact the rink at 228-2516.
KIDS ON ICE There will be a Game Skate at Nantucket Ice this Saturday, Jan. 12, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for skilled skaters in the eighth grade or younger. Helmets are required and gloves are strongly recommended. This is a children-only "Kids on Ice Weekends" event. There is a $4 admission fee but no charge for skate rentals. Call Nantucket Ice at 228-2516. BRANT POINT RUNNERS Runners meet Tuesdays rain or shine at 7:45 a.m. at the corner of Beach and Easton streets for an 8 a.m. start. The 5K (3.1 miles) run is on paved roads over a mostly flat course that is accurately wheel measured, with one hill and some moderate grades.
