      For many girls, signing up for the Cyrus Peirce School field hockey team is their first contact with the hockey stick. Fourth year coach Adriene Lombardi has only two years to teach the complicated fundamentals and get them ready to enter the JV or varsity ranks.

Football feeder program at Nantucket Boys and Girls Club

      The Boys and Girls Club football team is a member of the eight-school Cape Cod Middle School League. While Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are sponsored by private organizations, the other teams in the league are supported by their middle schools.

Boys' middle school soccer bridges the gap

      Started by the Nantucket Student Soccer Association, the Cyrus Peirce soccer program has been a sanctioned school sport for three years. The coed teams played intramural games until the players' skill levels increased. Eventually, the players needed to play in a competitive league.

      The girls' middle school soccer team rivals the boys' team for dedication, spirit, enthusiasm and soccer prowess. This fall's team had many players from the Nantucket Student Soccer Association spring travel soccer team. For the second consecutive year in a row, the spring team won the championship trophy and is poised to continue its success.
