Ellen's Lane concom appeal denied in Superior Court
      Nantucket Superior Court Judge Paul A. Chernoff ruled in favor of Bluefin Partners, LLC today, denying the appeal by 26 neighbors of Bluefin's 19-lot cluster subdivision on Miacomet Road overlooking the pond. Frances "Fifi" Halsey Wickser
OBITUARY
      Frances "Fifi" Halsey Wickser passed away on Saturday, November 8, in her home in Buffalo, N.Y. at the age of 83. She was born January 10, 1926 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to Joseph Gaius and Ellen Wolf Halsey. She grew up with her two sisters, Jacquie and Sally in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She then attended St. Catherine's boarding school in Virginia.

      Eli Alexander MacIver was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on November 12, 2008 weighing 7 pounds and 13 ounces. He is the son of Andy and Erin MacIver and brother of Iain MacIver of Nantucket. His grandparents are Elaine Doll-Dunn of Spearfish, South Dakota and Betty MacIver of North Kessock, Scotland.

Community Preservation Committee picks projects
      Operating with a full million dollar deficit from last year, the Community Preservation Committee has chosen 16 recipients for funding in FY 2010 at a total of $2,213,228, including $118,500 to be placed in open space reserves for future use. Shantaw Bloise wins 2009 Junior Miss title
      Shantaw Samantha Bloise won the title of Nantucket Junior Miss 2009 this Saturday before a standing-roomonly crowd in the Mary P. Walker Auditorium at Nantucket High School. During the talent portion of the scholarship program on Friday night, Bloise recited a version of a Kirk Franklin poem .
