      He gets at least 10 comments a day about his hair, which he got from his wavy-haired parents. "My dad has always had it, my mom had it and hers got curlier after I was born," said Bennett who takes 20 minutes to wash it and does lots of combing.

Nantucket Transportation Authority manager indicted
Arrested in connection with stealing over $8,000 from NRTA
      A former manager of the Nantucket Regional Transportation Authority was arraigned Tuesday in Barnstable Superior Court for allegedly stealing more than $8,000 from the fare boxes. Quoizel Wilson, age 30, of Nantucket, is charged with larceny over $250, and breaking into a depository.

Island men open alternative propane company
      Island attorney Jamie Ranney and Atlantic Aeolus owner Phil Marks have started Nantucket Energy, a propane company, with an eye towards giving islanders a choice in propane companies. In 2005, Tony Yates sold Yates Gas to Liberty Propane, an energy company based in Kansas. In 2007, Liberty also bought Nantucket Gas, which had been purchased from Ramos Gas by Harbor Fuel.

Great Harbor's pier site free of eel grass

      Although the island does not have all night coffee shops and movie theaters, second hand book stores and cheap boutiques, Nantucket in the off season is a college campus this semester for 13 engineering students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, who are on island for seven weeks.
