      When the Town fails to fulfill its statutory duty, it loses its place on its high horse. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
      To the Editor: So now Mr. Jon Winkelried wants to sell his piece of Nantucket - practically wants to give it away - for $55 million. I bet buyers are jumping for joy. Once I realized exactly where this great investment is situated, it seemed to me that it's actually in Shimmo, not Monomoy, but perhaps the Monomoy name sells better?

My View
      Over the past several months we have experienced several acts of violence directed at our fellow citizens that have caused some in our community to publically question whether living on a piece of sand 30 miles out in the Atlantic Ocean is enough of a buffer from the challenges of living in the cities that many of us have left.
