Time to involve the community in policing
      With an increase in violent crime these past few months on Nantucket - two sexual assaults during home invasions, a child sexually molested, a woman slashed by a knife in Sherburne Commons, a hit and run moped accident and assaults on the Surfside Road bike path, it might be easy to say that the community is changing.

      To the Editor, I wish to thank the many people and foundations that have helped to make the re-publication of my book on the integration of Nantucket's schools a reality. I am happy to be able to report that the money-raising effort, led by Frances Karttunen, Helen Seager and Jeanne Duarte has been successful enough to ensure that the book will definitely be published.
