The people of Nantucket long ago committed to providing nursing home services for the island's frail elderly population. The existing Town-owned Our Island Home facility, built in 1981, is more than a quarter century old, and showing its age. Only a handful of towns are even in the nursing home business anymore. The project is the largest single supply side reduction in CO2 emissions currently proposed in the U.S.A. It will displace 1,000,000 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere annually. More ...
