Mleczko chairs charity on ice
      This year's Charity on Ice is going to be caked in gold. In addition to Nantucket native A.J. Mleczko, who was a member of the U.S. women's gold medal winning Olympic hockey team in 1998 and three of her teammates, also in attendance will be Dorothy Hamill, who took home two gold medals in the 1976 Olympics, which took place in Innsbruck, Austria.

Nantucket Rowing starting next week
     Nantucket Rowing will begin Learn-To-Row classes starting next week. The three week courses are offered for high school students and adult women. Junior Rowing is for ages 14 to 19 years and is offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6p.m. to 8p.m. Master Women's Rowing is for women age 27 to 66 years old and is offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6a.m. to 8a.m. The fee is $350 for Master Women and $225 for Juniors. Each class is limited to ten people. Pre-registration is required. Nantucket Rowing is a not for profit organization. Wood Bat
      It was a pitcher's nightmare at the Tom Nevers Baseball Field last week in a battle of undefeateds. Coming off hot starts, the Barber Furniture Blacksheep took on The Rip, both tied atop the league leaders with 1-0 records. Don't let the zeros in the loss column fool you, nothing about this game resembled perfection.
