West End owner hopes to reopen for summer
      After being closed for a year and having a potential purchase of his West End restaurant fall through, owner Ande Grennan is hopeful he will be able to open for another season by the beginning of July. Grennan goes before the selectmen tonight asking for a new seasonal liquor license and victualler license.

Atlantic Aeolus to store and deliver propane as Nantucket Energy Corp.

      Saying he wants to give Yates Gas some competition and Nantucketers better prices, house mover Phil Marks, III, president of Atlantic Aeolus, is adding propane fuel storage and delivery to his job description. "We just want to provide a little competition for the other guy," said Marks.

Taxi fare hikes considered
      As gas prices rise, the cost of doing business follows. At tonight's Board of Selectmen's meeting, the Nantucket Taxi Owner's Association will be asking for an across the board increase to the taxi rates as well as adjustments to the zone map.

      Nantucket Superior Court Judge Charles T. Spurlock denied the Miacomet Conservation Association's appeal of the Planning Board's March 12, 2007 approval of the 19-lot cluster subdivision, Ellen's Way, at 120 Miacomet Road.

      WEEKLY UPDATE Terminal addition steel frame completed Novell Steel completed the steel frame of the terminal's east end addition last week. The final ridge beam was welded and bolted into place during a topping off ceremony held at the airport on Friday, which around 60 people attended.

Aprocession will leave the American Legion Hall to go to the Steamship Authority at 1 p.m. for a short service.
