AT ITS MAY 7 MEETING, THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN WILL:
Because last Wednesday was the fifth one of the month, there was no regular Board of Selectmen meeting. There was a special meeting Wednesday morning to elect officers, see story on page 3.
• Hold a public hearing to consider the application of Fish Stix, LLC, doing business as "Fresh," for a Common Victualler License for the premises located at 3 Salem St.
• Accept the surrender of an all alcoholic beverages seasonal liquor license held by Nantucket Island Management, doing business as the Harbor House Village, for the premises located at South Beach Street.
• Accept resignations from the Finance Committee and the Commission on Disability.
• Hear a request from the Nantucket Girl Scouts for a waiver of landfill fees associated with the removal of tree debris at the Girl Scout Camp.
• Hear a request for discussion from the Coalition for Responsible Coastal Management regarding Question 5 of the 2008 annual town election.
• Hear a request from Visitor Services for a partnership with Greenhound, LLC and acceptance of funding for Visitor Services for a satellite office at 10-12 Washington St. for the summer season.
• Hear a request for designation from the Police Department as agent pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws (liquor law).
• Hear a request from the Planning Department for the approval of funding for the temporary extension of the Prospect Street bike path.
• Hear a presentation of a report regarding management of construction and demolition waste at the landfill.
• Review the 2008 board/committee/commission appointment timeline. • Announce board and committee openings. • Designate the board of selectmen to various works groups.
