HAY NAMED AMONGST THE TOP IN THE WORLD

Nantucket-based designer Kathleen Hay was named one of the leading designers in the world in the 2007 International Interior Design Awards sponsored by Andrew Martin Co. of London.

Andrew Martin is one of the world's best known home furnishing brands with sales in over 50 countries. The award attracts thousands of entries from around the globe and is described by The Times of London as "the Oscars for the interior design world."

Hay established her firm in 2000 after working for 20 years as the manager of George Davis' business, WEEDS, which was located on Centre Street. She is honored to be among the company of some of the world's finest designers.

"It is a thrill to be in such good company. It certainly makes all the hard work worth it!" she said.

This summer Hay was honored to be a featured designer in the Hamptons Designer Show House in Bridgehampton, Long Island. Although her interior design work is primarily focused on residential installations on Nantucket, she has a busy graphic design business as well, with clients all over the country. Hay's work is featured, along with the other Andrew Martin finalists, in a book entitled Interior Design Review (Vol. 11) published by Andrew Martin Co. I
