DAVID P. ALLEN

David P. Allen died on Nov. 22, 2007 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was born July 8, 1949 at Nantucket Cottage Hospital and was a life-long resident of Nantucket. Mr. Allen attended Nantucket Schools and was a graduate of Nantucket High School class of 1967. He began working part-time for Myles Reis Trucking Company when he was a freshman in high school and continued his employment there until several years ago.

He is survived by five siblings, Kathryn (Susan) Allen of Nantucket; Daniel (Curtis) Allen of San Francisco; Martha Allen Proest of Conover, North Carolina; James Allen Jr. of Greenwich, Conn.; Nancy Gabriel-Sackie of Boston, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. David was the father of the late David Ozias, and the son of the late James and Elizabeth Allen.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 at noon, at the Summer Street Church.. Burial will be private. I
