I ON SELECTMEN

Patty Roggeveen
The Board of Selectmen held a workshop at 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon, Nov. 6, in the Land Bank conference room with representatives from the Nantucket Housing Office to discuss uses of town property on Miller Lane.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING TONIGHT, NOV. 7, AT 6 P.M. IN THE TOWN BUILDING, THE BOARD WILL:

  • Make another announcement that citizen articles for the 2008 Annual Town Meeting are being accepted until Nov. 23. Three submitted as of last Friday include one to alter the language of the leash law; one to extend the town's land lease for the VFW's new Bunker Road headquarters and one to add 11 parcels in Sconset to the Siasconset Sewer District.

  • Hold a public hearing to consider applications for openings on the Finance Committee, Capital Program Committee and Nantucket Historical Commission. Appointments will be granted at a later date.

  • Hear a request from Sherburne Commons, Inc., to amend its ground lease to allow its 13 affordable elder rental units to become available to persons earning no more than 80 percent of the median income for Nantucket County. The previous cutoff was for applicants earning no more than 50 percent of the median income.

  • Hear a request from the Westmoor Club to extend its sewer connection permit. According to documents for the request, changes in design have led to a need for an extension for permits that expire on Nov. 30 but have not been used because of the changes.
