Cleverly, the designer provided for access to the stairs not only from the living room, but also from the laundry room which is on the other side of the wall. Thus, a load of wash will reach the laundry room by the shortest route possible. The laundry room doubles as a mud room for the backdoor. Across from the laundry is the powder room.

Upstairs, the three bedrooms each occupy a corner of the house, so the cross ventilation is marvelous. (Despite its "inland" location, the property is the beneficiary of pleasant breezes, even in Nantucket's hottest weather.) Large windows, again, insure plenty of light.

The master suite incorporates two closets, one of which is walk-in, and a large bathroom with a soaking tub and separate shower. The other two bedrooms, both large and comfortable, share a second full bath.

The outdoor deck is tremendously appealing, running the full length of the house and its triangular shape which makes it seem very large. Even with a large hammock and circular table - with a red umbrella - there is plenty of additional space for everyone.

Tucked away at the back of the house, but easily accessible from another set of stairs off the deck, is the outdoor shower. The yard is fenced in.
