I on the Court In what are historically becoming long days for District Court Monday sessions, 43 people with various cases were on the docket this week. Ronaldo J. Alvarenga, 30, of 5 Hull Lane, charged Oct. 11 with driving with a suspended license, had his case continued to Oct. 22. Matthew S. Amling, 21, of Maryland, charged Aug. 15 with driving under the influence of alcohol, making an improper turn and being a minor possessing alcohol, admitted to driving intoxicated and had the case continued one year without a finding. He must take the driver alcohol program and had his license suspended for 210 days. He was found not responsible on the other charges. Michael K. Araujo, 48, of 40 Hooper Farm Road, admitted to larceny from a building (Islander Package Store) on Sept. 16 and had the case continued one year without a finding with an order to pay $583 restitution and stay alcohol and drug free. He also had a Sept. 16 charge of driving under the influence of alcohol continued one year without a finding, must attend the driver alcohol program and had his license suspended for 45 days. Charges of negligent driving and failing to stop for police were dismissed, he was found responsible for speeding and failing to yield, and was found not responsible for driving outside lanes, a vehicle bylaw violation, not wearing a seat belt and possessing an open container of alcohol. Marvin S. Bryan, 32, of 9 Somerset Road, charged Sept. 6 with assault and battery, had his case continued to Nov. 19. Lindsey Butler, 61, of 12 Atlantic Ave., charged July 12, 2006 with driving under the influence of alcohol and negligent driving, paid due costs and had the case dismissed. Umar Chaudhry, 21, of Weymouth, Mass., charged Aug. 29 with drug possession with intent to distribute, had his case continued to Nov. 26. Darlene Cheverie, 42, of Sudbury, Mass., charged Aug. 25 with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving outside lanes, had her case continued to Nov. 13 for a trial date. Vincent Cilfone, 26, of 10 Bassett Road, charged July 18 with drug possession, had his case continued to Oct. 29. Philip Corby, 36, of 2 Kendrick St., admitted to driving under the influence of alcohol on Oct. 10 and had the case continued one year without a finding. He must attend the driver alcohol program and had his license suspended for 45 days. He was found not responsible for driving outside lanes. Jose N. Costa, 35, of 68 Fairgrounds Road, will have a July 20 charge of driving without a license dismissed with $50 court costs and was found not responsible for speeding. James M. Cromartie, 25, of 114 Washington St. Ext., had his charges amended and admitted to negligent driving on Sept. 9. The case was continued one year without a finding and he was found not responsible for a lights violation and not wearing a seat belt. Andrew J. Dott, 37, of Nantucket, was found in violation of his probation and received a guilty finding on his July 8, 2005 drug charges which previously had been continued without findings. He was sentenced to 59 days in the Dukes County Correctional Facility with credit for six days served. Other charges of drug possession and negligent driving that had been continued without findings were also converted to guilty findings. Sergio C. Flores, 35, of 2 Cartwright Place, will have a May 12 charge of leaving the scene of property damage dismissed with $100 court costs. David D. Foley, 37, of 8 York St., admitted to driving under the influence of alcohol on Aug. 30 and had the case continued one year without a finding. He must attend the driver alcohol program and had his license suspended for 45 days. A charge of driving without a license was dismissed and he was found not responsible for driving outside lanes. Mark J. Freeman, 30, of 18 Boynton Lane, had June 18 charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing and larceny under $250 dismissed. Sean D. Genova, 31, of West Palm Beach, Fla., paid due costs and had an Aug. 14, 2006 charge of driving under the influence of alcohol dismissed. Joshua W. Gohring, 23, of Attleboro, Mass., admitted to driving with a suspended license on Sept. 8 and had the case continued one year without a finding with a court cost assessment of $100. He was found not responsible for not having an inspection sticker and a license plate violation. Sandro S. Gomes, 26, of 17 Woodland Drive, will have an Oct. 9 charge of driving without a license dismissed with $50 court costs. He was found responsible for speeding. Daniel G. Iandoli, 37, of 8B Equator Drive, paid due costs and had a Sept. 25 charge of driving with a suspended license dismissed. Mariya K. Johnson, 23, of 38 Macys Lane, paid due costs and had a July 16, 2006 charge of drug possession dismissed. Wendell C. Jones, 46, of 10 Still Dock, charged Feb. 6 with violating an abuse prevention order, had his case continued to Oct. 22. Bonnie Kehoe, 54, of 14 Chuck Hollow Road, will have a Nov. 27, 2006 charge of leaving the scene of property damage dismissed with payment of $456 in restitution. Her case was continued to Jan. 14, 2008 and if restitution is paid by then her other charges of negligent driving, driving outside lanes and speeding will be dismissed. Daniel A. Landaverde-Manci, 32, of 18A Bailey Road, charged Sept. 1 with driving under the influence of alcohol, a lights violation and speeding, had his case continued to Nov. 26. Edgar Leinbergs, 50, of 5 Catherine Lane, charged Oct. 13 with violating an abuse prevention order, had his case continued to Oct. 22. Steven Lewis, 35, of 5 Square Rigger Road, charged May 5 with cocaine possession with intent to distribute, had his case continued to Nov. 26. Alexandra W. Madden, 23, of Fairgrounds Road, admitted to an Oct. 11 charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and had the case continued one year without a finding. She must attend the driver alcohol program and had her license suspended for 45 days. She was found not responsible for a lights violation. Hidelfonso O. Monzon, 45, of 19 Cynthia Lane, charged Aug. 26 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving outside lanes and not wearing a seat belt, had his case continued to Nov. 26. Patricia Newell, 48, formerly of Nantucket, charged Oct. 6, 2006 with assault to murder, had her case continued to Nov. 13 for a trial date. David S. Pike, 27, of Nantucket, charged Sept. 7, 2005 with drug possession with intent to distribute, had a probation violation hearing continued to Oct. 29. He was also charged Dec. 19, 2006 with driving an uninsured vehicle with a suspended license and registration, and vehicle safety and equipment violations, and on April 30 with drug possession and driving with a suspended license. Wagner M. Quirino, 30, of Essex Road, was found in violation of his probation and is in custody until his violation hearing on Oct. 22. He was placed on pretrial probation for one year and must remain alcohol and drug free on a Dec. 24, 2000 charge of assault and battery, Dec. 28, 2000 charges of breaking and entering in the night, intimidating a witness, assault and trespassing, as well as a Dec. 28, 2000 charge of assault and battery. He admitted to driving with a suspended license on Dec. 29, 2000 and had that charge continued one year without a finding. Milton E. Rivas-Guillen, 22, of 11 Macys Lane, will have an Oct. 2 charge of driving without a license dismissed with $50 court costs. He was found not responsible for equipment violations and not wearing a seat belt. Randall T. Ryan, 41, of 33 Millbrook Road, will have a June 27 charge of driving without a license dismissed with $200 court costs. He had a charge of driving an uninsured vehicle dismissed and was found not responsible for driving an unregistered vehicle and speeding. William J. Sarnie, 44, of 3 Todd Circle, paid due costs and had two June 13, 2006 charges of drug possession dismissed. Betina Silva, 35, of 53 Essex Road, will have a Sept. 5 charge of driving without a license dismissed with $50 court costs. Symanthia N. Toy, 29, of 9 Trotter's Lane, paid due costs and had an Aug. 10, 2006 charge of drug possession dismissed. Timothy A. Trudel, 22, of 11 Mizzenmast, charged Oct. 13 with driving under the influence of alcohol, possessing an open container of alcohol and driving outside lanes, had his case continued to Oct. 29. Daniel W. Twomey, 20, of 28 Longwood Drive, charged May 20 with breaking and entering in the day and placing a person in fear as well as destruction of property, had his case continued to Nov. 5. Glen S. White, 43, of 8 Allen's Way, charged May 31 with driving with a suspended license and failing to yield, had his case continued to Nov. 26. A hearing on a motion to suppress evidence began late Monday afternoon for Kenneth E. White, 49, of Sandwich, Mass., charged March 31 with heroin possession with intent to distribute. The completion of the hearing was set for Oct. 22. Denham S. Wood, 28, of Westport, Mass. charged Sept. 26 with assault and battery on a police officer, nine counts of breaking into a vehicle or boat in the night to commit a felony, possession of a burglarious instrument, resisting arrest and larceny over $250, had his case continued to Nov. 5. Donald Wuerl, 29, of Peachtree City, Ga., paid due costs and had an Aug. 23, 2006 charge of driving under the influence of alcohol dismissed. - Compiled by Mary Lancaster |
