"Death At A Funeral"

(Rated R for language and

drug content; 90 min.) Frank Oz directs this comedic vignette set in motion by the death of the family patriarch of a dysfunctional British family, and the delivery of two caskets to the home. Reminiscent of "The Royal Tannenbaums," the family characters are enough of a story themselves. Add to that a farcical plot filled with slapstick scenes and eccentricities and you have the making for that deep laughter that always comes in situations where you know you should be silent and respectful. Good thing movie theatres are dark! Wed. Oct. 10, Thurs. Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m.

"Resident Evil: Extinction" (Rate R for strong horror violence and

some nudity; 95 min.) The third entry in the Resident Evil saga, "Resident Evil: Extinction" picks up where "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" left off. This time Alice and the other motley crew of good guys not only work to bring down the Umbrella Corporation, but in their trek across the Nevada desert must also fight zombies, killer crows and other monsters who have survived the deadly Tvirus. Inspired by the video game of the same name, "Resident Evil: Extinction" is a "Mad Max" for today's audiences. Fri. Oct. 12, Sat. Oct. 13, 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Sun. Oct. 14, 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

"Mr. Woodcock"

(Rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content, thematic material, language and a mild drug reference; 87 min.) Hamlet as comedy, "Mr. Woodcock" stars Billy Bob Thorton , Sean William Scott, and Susan Sarandon. When self-help author John Farley (Sean William Scott) returns to his hometown to accept an award, he finds his widowed mother Beverly (Susan Sarandon) engaged to Mr. Woodcock (Billy Bob Thornton), the stereotypical gym teacher of Farley's haunted past. Male rivalry ensues and comedic escapades rule. Fri. Oct. 12, Sat. Oct. 13, 5:00 p.m.

"The Brave One" (Rated R for strong violence, language

and some sexuality; 122 min.)

Starring Jodie Foster and directed by Neil Jordan, "The Brave One" focuses on New York radio host Erica Bain. A brutal attack leaves Bain wounded and her fiancé dead, and turns Bain into a vigilante seeking justice. The public rallies behind the anonymous vigilante while the police rush to bring an end to the violence. This dark drama focuses as much on the action as the moral conundrum faced by Bain as she struggles with the question of whether vigilante justice is justified or the act of becoming the same as those you despise. Mon. Oct. 15, Tues. Oct. 16, 7:30 p.m
