Island native Drew Cook, 20, is laid to rest today
The family and many friends of island native Drew Cook share in mourning the loss of the young man who died unexpectedly at the age of 20 on Friday, Sept. 28. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today in the Prospect Hill Cemetery on Somerset Road (at the end of Friendship Lane). A reception will follow at Faregrounds Restaurant.

Mr. Cook lived on Nantucket until his family moved to the Cape when he was in eighth grade. He graduated from Barnstable High School in 2005 where he played football and basketball. He was a junior at Bryant College in Rhode Island majoring in business.

Mr. Cook is survived by his mother Carla Goodwin and stepfather Michael Goodwin of Maine and his sister Mandi Cook of Salt Lake City, Utah and Nantucket. He is also survived by his uncles Gregory Marsh of Nantucket, Adam Marsh of Cape Cod, Luke Marsh of Ohio and Lionel Watiker of Ohio; aunts Karen Marsh of Nantucket and Polly Watiker of Ohio; cousins Derek and Chase Watiker of Ohio, Trevor and Tim Marsh of Nantucket and Cassie, Cory and Emily Marsh of Ohio. He further leaves two stepsisters, Heather Goodwin of Philadelphia and Jackie Goodwin of New Jersey, and a stepniece.
