ON THE COURT Michael Araujo, of Nantucket, charged Sept. 16 with larceny in a building and on Sept. 17 with driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving, failing to stop for police, speeding and driving outside lanes, had his cases continued to Oct. 15. Ashley Bender, 20, of 17 Milestone Crossing, charged July 8 with driving without a license, paid due costs and had her case dismissed. Charles N. Corkern, 26, of 11 Berkley St., charged Sept. 13 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving an unregistered vehicle, speeding and driving outside lanes, had his case continued to Oct. 9. Carlos DeSouza, 35, of 104 Old South Road, charged Sept. 10 with driving without a license or an inspection sticker, will have the license charge dismissed with $100 court costs and was found not responsible on the sticker charge. Joseph P. Dooley, 52, of 34 Washington St., charged Sept. 13, 2006 with drug possession, paid due costs and had the charge dismissed. A warrant was to issue for Andrius Doveika, 26, of 30 Tashama Lane, charged Sept. 11 with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. Raphael Frasson, 20, of 62 Hooper Farm Road, charged Sept. 12 with driving without a license and equipment violations, will have the license charge dismissed with $100 court costs and was found not responsible on the other charge. Matthew Gaede, 22, of Nantucket, charged Sept. 15 with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving outside lanes, had his case continued to Oct. 9. Gabrielius Gurauskas, 19, of 119 Pleasant St., will have a Sept. 16 charge of disorderly conduct dismissed with $200 court costs. Anoise bylaw violation was dismissed. A warrant was to be held until yesterday afternoon for Cain U. Mancia, 42, of 73 Old South Road, charged Jan. 7 with assault and battery and on May 5 with permitting a vehicle to be driven by someone unlicensed or with a suspended or revoked license. Jonathan D. Nile, 34, of 19B Waydale Road, charged Sept. 13, 2006 with drug possession, paid due costs and had his case dismissed. James O'Brien, 25, of 20 Nobadeer Farm Road, was placed on pre-trial probation for six months on a Sept. 16 charge of trespassing. He must also remain alcohol free during that time. Javier Diogenes Pena, 23, of 4 Topaz Circle, charged Sept. 13 with driving an uninsured, unregistered vehicle and driving without a license, will have the insurance charge dismissed with $100 court costs, had the license charge dismissed and was found not responsible for the unregistered vehicle. James M. Phillips, 30, of 45 Surfside Road, charged Sept. 15 with driving with a suspended license, had his case continued to Oct. 1. Wagner M. Quirino, 31, of 17 1/2 Old South Road, was held on $20,000 cash bail or $200,000 surety until his next court date of Oct. 15. The bail was sought because he has been in default for six years on charges from 2000 and 2001 including driving under the influence of alcohol, assault and battery, breaking and entering in the night, intimidating a witness, trespassing, leaving the scene of property damage and driving with a suspended license. Jeremy J. Starks, 27, of 65 Cato Lane, charged Nov. 21, 2006 with cocaine trafficking, a drug violation near a school and drug possession, had his case continued to Sept. 24. Neil A. Stern, 29, of 16 Cynthia Lane, charged June 21 with driving without a license, paid due costs and had his case dismissed. Kentario Williams, 25, of Nantucket, charged Jan. 31 with drug possession, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest, had his District Court case on those charges continued to Sept. 24 as well as his Superior Court charges of cocaine trafficking and drug possession for which he has already been indicted by a grand jury. In other Superior Court transactions, Ronald Moore, of Nantucket, who had been indicted for larceny and threatening to commit a crime, changed his plea to guilty of larceny over $250 and was placed on probation for one year, during which time he must submit to random screenings if sought by the probation department and submit a DNA sample to be filed. In exchange for the guilty plea the assistant district attorney agreed not to prosecute Moore on the threat charge or on another charge of larceny from a building.
