KIDS PICKS The Nantucket Independent's 4th Annual

Summer Reading Program
TEDDY GARTLAND 7 years old, recommends "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," by J.K. Rowling "I like it because it's a good mystery." Congratulations Teddy! You are one of this week's winners of a LightWedge Book Light!
JARED FUNDERBURG 7 1/2 years old, recommends "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," by J.K. Rowling "It is a really cool book. When I read it I couldn't stop reading it. Now I'm on book six."
JACK GARTLAND 9 years old, recommends "Holes," by Louis Sachar "I like "Holes" because I thought it was a well-written book with many adventures. So, if you're ready to go on an adventure where death is near, read this book."
LUKE PATMON 10 1/2 years old, recommends "A Series of Unfortunate Events," by Lemony Snicket "This series is action-packed, romantic and sad. The three main characters are a girl whose name is Violet, a boy named Klaus and a little baby named Sunny. They are smart, intelligent orphans who in every book of the series get captured by an evil man named Count Olaf who is trying to get their fortune. I loved the first three books of the series. Congratulations Luke! You are one of this week's winners of a LightWedge Book Light!
