NANTUCKET SLAM STARTS MONDAY The 2007 Redbone Nantucket Slam, where anglers try to catch three of a designated species of fish in a single day, begins next Sunday, Sept. 9. During the two-day tournament, fishermen will try for the three-fish slam that could include striped bass, bluefish, bonito and false albacore.

This is the fourth year the Slam is being held on Nantucket, and proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Last year over $150,000 was raised.

The Redbone series is a world-wide event where different fish are sought in different areas. About 75 participants are expected on Nantucket.

Anyone interested in taking part in the Slam should contact the Harbor House at 228-1500, or Karen Kelly at 800-966-0444.
