Adult Soccer League finishes on high note
The Nantucket Adult Soccer League, after surviving a potential seasonending incident a few weeks ago, was able to come to an agreement with town officials to continue with the playoffs last week and this past weekend.

After beating fourth place Natural Vibes last week, 6-2, regular league champion Chalate faced off against second place Aqua Caliente, who triumphed over Something Natural, 3-0, in a close contest to end up in the finals. On Sunday, the teams proved why they were in the finals. The score stayed knotted at 0 until Chalate's Cleidson Padilla managed to take a perfect pass and bury it in the net with inside of seven minutes to go for a slim lead. With the clock ticking down to under three minutes, Andrew Stewart put Chalate out of reach for the 2-0 win.

League president Jorge Rojas felt that the league was able to regroup and "finish on a high note" for the year. "It was a good way to end the season after the recent unfortunate incident at the field. The league redeemed itself and proved that the regular fans and players are real soccer fans and are well behaved." He added that "the fans and soccer players appreciated that the town saw that we were working with them to deal with their concerns and allowed us to finish the season".

Top player in the league honors went to Yoshimar Reid of Agua Caliente, with goalkeeper honors going to Sean O'Callaghan of Something Natural and Angel Pagan of C.D. Juventud. Top scorer Salvador Guzman of the same team won with 19 goals. Fair play honors
