MILESTONES
On Thursday, August 9th, 2007 at 6pm on Dionis Beach, Ms. Miriam LaBoiteaux Buttrick and Mr. John David Tenreiro were united in marriage by Reverend Ted Anderson, a friend of the bride's family. The Bride and Groom united their two families during the ceremony with the Brides children Anthony, Sarah, and Margaux Cappella and the Grooms children, Nathaniel, Joshua, and Zachary Tenreiro. The Brides son, Anthony Cappella presented his mother to her Groom, her daughter Sarah was the Bridesmaid, and her daughter Margaux was the flower girl. The Grooms sons Nathaniel and Joshua were groomsmen and Zachary was the ring bearer. The Bride, Miriam Buttrick is of Weymouth, Mass. has summered on Nantucket her entire life, her fathers side of the family is a direct descendent of the Mitchell family on Nantucket. During the ceremony Ms. Buttrick, wore something old, a rose quartz necklace which belonged to her Grandmother, Ms. Constance Drake of Nantucket and Florida; something borrowed was her beautiful bouquet of Hydrangeas from a friend's garden on Nantucket, and something new was her wedding band. The Groom, John Tenreiro, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island wore Nantucket Red Shorts and a bow tie with nautical flags imprinted on it; Sailing being a passion of his. The Bride is employed by Ann Taylor in Hingham, Mass. and the Groom is employed as a Designer and Sales Associate with Plymouth Quarries of Hingham, Mass. He also owns his own Design Business. Present at the ceremony were the Grooms parents, Antonio and Ester Tenreiro, the Brides eldest brother, David Buttrick of St. Louis, Missouri and her father John Buttrick of Nantucket and Switzerland. A reception followed at the Sea Grille Restaurant and an off-island reception will follow at the couples residence for those who could not attend the island wedding and reception. Christian F. Fleming, the son of Donna Wiley and Bradford Fleming of Nantucket, was named to the dean's list at Bates College for the second semester of the academic year. To qualify for the dean's list students must maintain better than a B+ average for the semester. Fleming, a junior economics major, studied Chinese language, culture and economics during the 2006 Bates fall semester abroad in the Nanjing program. • • • BIRTHS Katherine Ann Borneman was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on Aug. 16, 2007 weighing 8 pounds and 11 ounces. She is the daughter of Paul Borneman III and Christine Borneman and sister of Elizabeth and Abigail of Nantucket. Her grandparents are Rev. Paul and Cindy Borneman, Jr. of Nantucket and Bill Foster and Kathleen Burke of Meadville, Pa. Her great-grandparents are Catherine Feleppa and Thelma Worley of Meadville, Pa. Beatrice Rose Marcavitch was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on Aug. 17, 2007 weighing 9 pounds and 3 ounces. She is the daughter of Andrea (Desautels) Marcavitch and Aaron Marcavitch of Nantucket. Her grandparents are Pamela and Richard Marcavitch of Waynesburg, Pa. and Margaret and Andre Desautels of Groveton, N.H. Ellis David Turney Robinson was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on Aug. 13, 2007 weighing 5 pounds and 11 ounces. He is the son of Jane and Richard Robinson and brother of Liam Thomas Robinson of Nantucket. His grandparents are Honor and the late Deryck Robinson of England and Francis and Leo Gregory Lee of Rhode Island and Florida. His great-grandmother is Mildred Robinson of England.
