"Bangkok Haunts"
by John Burdett Once again in "Bangkok Haunts," author John Burdett takes the reader on a headspinning ride through the underbelly of a steamy Bangkok. Piercingly smart and darkly hilarious, Detective Sonchai Jitpleecheep of the Royal Thai Police is the odd Buddhist hero in this and the other two of Burdett's Bangkok novels, "Bangkok 8" and "Bangkok Tattoo." "Bangkok Haunts" is a read saturated with the sights and smells of an exotic locale that will send you to the travel section contemplating your next adventure.

"The Shadow Catcher"
by Marianne Wiggins The Shadow Catcher is a novel about Edward Curtis, who chronicled the disappearing Indian culture of the West in his early 20th century photographs. At the same time, it is the story of the narrator, named Marianne Wiggins, preparing her novel about Curtis for publication and discovering her own strange connection with Curtis' story. It shows Curtis as more complicated than commonly thought, celebrates the West and explores the basis of truth in history and biography.

"Factory Girl" (Rated R for pervasive drug use, strong sexual
content, nudity and language.) Sienna Miller establishes herself as a leading actress in "Factory Girl," directed by George Hickenlooper. Miller stars as Edie Sedgewick, a beautiful and naive actress/artist who is taken under the wing of pop artist Andy Warhol shortly after her arrival in New York City. Hers is a tragic story of a comet-like rise and fall during her career - of being famous just for being famous, which happened in the earliest stages of our celebrity-obsessed culture.

Resident Evil 4 - Wii Edition
Rated M for Mature "Resident Evil 4" is a survival horror game that packs huge amounts of tension and action to create one of the most memorable gaming experiences of the decade. In RE4, you take on the role of former cop and Resident Evil 2 star Leon Kennedy, who is on a mission to rescue the president's daughter, held hostage in a mysterious rural village. Along the way, you constantly fight for your life against an army of homicidal townsfolk, who assault you from every angle and never seem to stop coming. The atmosphere of the game is downright nerve-wracking; being constantly pursued by enemies who can come out of nowhere, plus having a lack of supplies and ammunition make for a heartpounding experience every time you go into a new area. The details of why exactly these people are trying so hard to stop you are revealed in welldirected cutscenes - that even include cues, like pressing a button to dodge a knife - that constantly keep you on your toes. The Wii edition is the best release of the game, which includes improved graphics over the Gamecube version and the added features of the Playstation 2 version, plus the Wii-specific controls that make aiming and shooting a breeze even in tight situations. And to top it all off, the Wii version is available for a bargain price of around $30. Overall, "Resident Evil 4" is a truly remarkable game that can't be recommended enough.
