I ON SELECTMEN
On Monday, July 9 the selectmen met at 9 a.m. for a workshop discussion on the proposed Nantucket Sewer Act prior to a legislative hearing on the Act scheduled for July 17.

AT ITS MEETING TONIGHT, JULY 11,

THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN WILL:

• Make appointments to the Harbor Plan Implementation Committee and Cemetery Commission Workgroup. The Cemetery Commission has Diane Holdgate as its applicant. The Harbor Plan Committee, with four at-large seats, has Stephen Bender, Diane Coombs, Leslie Johnson, Wendy McCrae, Sarah Oktay, Carl Sjolund and Patricia Stolte as applicants. Shellfish and Harbor Advisory Board members to be endorsed to sit on the committee are Peter Boyce, Bam LaFarge and Doug Smith.

• Endorse Abatement Advisory Committee appointments. Judith Moran, Joe McLaughlin and Flint Ranney have been chosen by Town Assessor Debbie Dilworth for the annual appointments, noting that each has served well since the 1994 inception of the committee.

• Hear a request from Chanticleer, LLC for a temporary amendment to its entertainment license for a traditional Bastille Day celebration on July 14.

• Hear a request from the Nantucket Land Council for a conservation restriction at 141 Madaket Road to preserve a densely wooded area measuring approximately half a mile.

• Hear a request from Duane Jones to accept a grant for a bike and pedestrian easement at 39 Nobadeer Farm Road in conjunction with Planning Board conditions.

• Hear a request from Eldredge Surveying and Engineering to accept improvement of West Chester Street near Westmoor Farms.

• Hear an update of the selectmen's 2007-2008 goals process.

• Hear a Town Administrator's report on 2007 end of year budget transfers approved on June 28 by the Finance Committee.

• Discuss action on a determination of uniqueness associated with the town's proposed purchase of the Reith property at 10 and 12 Washington St. (See separate story).
