Tigers turn back Cubs in Little League softball finale
The Cubs valiantly came back, scoring five runs in the fourth inning, but the Tigers lead was too much to overcome, as they held on for an 11-9 victory in Saturday's major league softball final. The Tigers are 2007 league champions.

The Cubs comeback was highlighted by a Nicole Aguiar triple after Farrell Duce, Mikayla Molta, Madison Duce, Christine Sisson, Leah Hull and Juliette LeFavre all singled.

The Tigers, however, had an insurmountable lead, thanks primarily to back-to-back three-run innings in the second and third. In the second inning, singles by Ashley Wilson and Lilly Sylvia did the trick, while in the third inning Alexa Dragon, Kezia Duarte, Megan Cranston, Ella Blasi and Sylvia all hit singles.

Dragon also had a double in the first inning, while Maggie Wiggin, Ashley Wilson, Katie Fox and Duarte all had singles.

In the Cubs first inning, Duce brought home Aguiar, who had singled, with a sacrifice fly.

The Tigers turned a double play in the second inning when Cranston caught a fly ball off the bat of Farrell Duce and then tagged out Leah Hull.
