Behavioral Health Services to receive funding
Yesterday afternoon the Massachusetts General Hospital Community Benefit Program announced a $150,000 contribution to Nantucket Behavioral Health Services to assist the agency's mental health and substance abuse treatment programs by offsetting the cost of salaries for a licensed addictions counselor, an outreach worker and psychiatric support services.
The donation was made possible through a joint effort between Massachusetts General Hospital, Nantucket Cottage Hospital and Senator Robert O'Leary. The announcement was made at Tryworks, the island's first sober house run by Behavioral Health Services, which opened last summer in Surfside as a residence for men recovering from alcohol and substance abuse.
