District Court convened for a short session on Monday before preliminary proceedings in the murder trial for Thomas Toolan began in Superior Court. During the District Court session, the case against Richard L. Burrell, 30, of Nantucket, was dismissed after he paid due court costs. He was charged Aug. 16, 2005 with drug possession and had the case continued without finding.

The probation for Shanna Cochrane, 33, of 22 Evergreen Way, was terminated and her case was dismissed after she paid all due court costs. She was previously found guilty on an Oct. 21, 2005 charge of negligent driving.

Christopher E. Gatto, 29, of Needham, Mass., was arraigned on a June 2 charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. His case was continued to June 25.

Tiago F. Gomes, 27, of 4 Cherry St., had his case dismissed after paying due court costs. He was charged April 14, 2006 with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of property damage and had the case continued without a finding.

Michelle Ann Harrison, 17, of 37 Somerset Road, was arraigned on June 2 charges of marijuana possession, driving outside lanes and not wearing a seat belt. Her case was continued to July 11.

The pre-trial probation for Kino S. Levy, 19, of Nantucket, was dismissed. He was placed on the probation for March 16, 2005 charges of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older and assault and battery.

Keith Lewis, 33, of Nantucket, was arraigned on several 2006 charges and had his case continued to July 11. He was charged with two counts of cocaine distribution on July 30, 2006, another count on Aug. 9 and again on Aug. 13 as well as a drug violation near a school, and charged with cocaine distribution and conspiracy to violate the drug law on Dec. 1 of that year.

Carlos H. Merlos, 24, of 14 Cynthia Lane, had his probation terminated and his case was dismissed. He was previously found guilty on a July 13, 2003 charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Barrett J. Snow, 36, of 43B Nobadeer Farm Road, had his case dismissed after paying due court costs. He was charged March 12, 2006 with negligent driving and had the case continued without a finding.

Glen S. White, 42, of 8 Allen's Way, was arraigned on May 31 charges of driving with a suspended license and failing to yield. The license charge was amended to read as a subsequent offense after a prior offense and a new complaint will be issued. His case was continued to June 25.

A warrant was to issue at 4 p.m. for Christine Youd, 26, of Buzzards Bay, Mass. She was charged

with drug possession on Aug. 16, 2005. I
