Selectmen to appoint committee applicants tonight

In preparation for tonight's June 6 appointments to vacancies on various town boards, commissions and committees, the selectmen held a session two weeks ago to question applicants for seats on 19 commissions and boards.The applicants are as follows:

+ Airport Commission, one seat: Robert Atlee, Stephen Drabkin, Walter Flaherty, Charles Gibson, Peter Louderback, Steve Meadow, Finn Murphy, Neil Paterson, Robert Schwarzenbach.

+ Cable TVAdvisory Committee, one seat: Peter Sutro.

+ Capital Program Committee, one at-large seat: Frank Spriggs.

+ Commission on Disability, two seats ending 2010, one seat ending 2008 BOS may appoint four to keep disabled persons as majority membership): Ellen Braginton-Smith, Phillip Gallagher, David Gray, Richard Moran, Jon St. Laurent, Jeanette Topham.

+ Conservation Commission, three seats: Andrew Bennett, John Braginton-Smith, Prentice Claflin,

David Gray, Diane Holdgate, Steve Meadow, Jamie

Ranney, Joan Skar, Brian Sullivan.

+ Contract Review Committee, one at-large seat: Pamela Bartlett, Mary Wawro.

+ Council on Aging, three seats: Carol Barrett, Susan Bennett-Witte, M. Gregory Mehringer, Brenda Johnson, Jon St. Laurent, Patricia Thornton.

+ Council for Human Services, three seats ending 2010, two seats ending 2008: Susan Marques, Jacqueline McGrady, M. Gregory Mehringer, Eve Messing, Richard Ross, Nancy Sevrens, Linda Williams.

+ Cultural Council, two seats: Eve Messing, Anne Miller, David Provost, Marina Sutro.

+ Energy Study Committee, five seats: Carl Borchert, Mike Burns, Phillip Gallagher, Barbara Gookin, Anne Miller, Robert Schwarzenbach, Alexandra Welsh.

+ Finance Committee, three seats: Charity Benz, Peter Morrison, Michael Rosen, Tim Soverino. + Nantucket Historical Commission, two seats: Aaron Marcavitch, Deborah Timmerman, Mark Voigt.

+ Parks and Recreation Commission, one seat: Maureen Beck, John Harold Kittila.

+ Planning Board Alternate, one seat: Diane Coombs. + Scholarship Committee, one seat: Pamela Bartlett.

+ Town & County Right of Way Committee, one seat: D. Anne Atherton, Richard Cooper, Phillip Gallagher, Nancy Newhouse, Donald Visco.

+ Tree Advisory Committee, one seat: Diane Coombs, Eve Messing, Michael Misurelli.

+ Visitors Service and Information Advisory Committee, three seats and two seats ending 2009: Charles Balas, Ara Charder, Diane Reis Flaherty, William Gurley, Gene Mahon, David Place, Louise Swift, Linda Williams.

+ Zoning Board of Appeals, one seat, five years:
