Catie Buchanan, daughter of Donna Buchanan of Nantucket, has been named a Dean's Scholar for the spring semester at Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga. She received the distinction for earning a 4-point grade average while taking 12 or more semester hours. Ms. Buchanan graduated from Nantucket High School in 2006.

Country Village Real Estate has announced that Mark Burlingham has joined the firm's Premier Services Group. Mark currently holds a Real Estate license in California. In addition he has 20 plus years of Institutional Sales experience as vice president of Sales and Marketing for The Vanguard Group, Merrill Lynch and Prudential. Growing up on the North Shore, Mark visited the island for many years. He and his wife Terri have a home in Brant Point and recently relocated to Nantucket from California. Sophia Gale Beni was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on May 24, 2007 weighing 7 pounds and 4 ounces. She is the daughter of Craig and Jocelyn Beni of Nantucket. Her grandparents are John and Joan Beni of Irvington, N.Y. and Nantucket and Kenneth and Gale Nill of Lexington, Mass. and LaJolla, Calif. Her great-grandmother is Anne Hummel of Birmingham, Mich.

Taylor Alexandra Bistany was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on May 23, 2007 weighing 7 pounds and 4 ounces. She is the daughter of Renee Lockley and Chris Bistany of Nantucket. Her grandparents are Kim and Georgia Lockley of Costa Mesa, Calif., Denise Lockley of Nantucket, Kent Bistany of Rockland, Mass., and Kathy and Robert Steinem of Colrain, Mass. Her great-grandparents are Ruth Lockley of Nyssa, Ore., Claire Bistany of Salem, N.H., and Norman and Patricia Black of Pinehurst, N.C.

Bryan Armando Nazareth was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on May 25, 2007 weighing 7 pounds and 11 ounces. He is the son of Armando and Ursula Nazareth of Nantucket. His grandparent is Creuza Serafim Dantas of Brazil.

Isaac Edward Norton was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on May 26, 2007 weighing 8 pounds and 8 ounces. He is the son of Mai Linh and Aaron Norton and brother of Elias Norton of Nantucket. His grandparents are Rick and Valerie Norton of Nantucket and Tom and Kim Dulaney of Groton Long Point, Conn. His great-grandparents are Lois Norton and Ed and Trudi Benham of Nantucket and Jim and Barbara Dulaney of Green Valley, Ariz.

Rohgon Gregor Barry Reed was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on May 15, 2007 weighing 8 pounds and 15 ounces. He is the son of Jenn Farmer and Ben Reed of Nantucket. His grandparents are Pamela and Dick Lee of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Michael Farmer of Bailey's, Wis., and Barry and Robin Reed of Stratham, N.H. His greatgrandparents are Marvin and Mary Gregor of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ralph Reed of Stonington, Minn., and Florence Wiggin of Stratham, N.H.

Roberto Alexander Rivera was born at Nantucket Cottage Hospital on May 17, 2007 weighing 8 pounds and 2 ounces. He is the son of Omar A. Rivera and Miriam D. Lemus and brother of Katie Lemus of Nantucket. His grandparents are Mateo Lemus of Nantucket and Allcia Cisneros of El Salvador.
